44. Robert HANEY was born on 30 Mar 1757 in Charlott Co., Virginia.(18) He served in the military about 1778 in South Carolina.(18)
He was born in Virginia,. March 30, 1757 and while residing in Rutherford Co., NC, Robert Haney applied for pension on account of his service in the Revolution and stated that while living in Halifax County, NC, 177? he enlisted for 30 mount, served as a private in Capt. Wm. Brinkley's NC company and was in the battle of Sullivan Island, after the termination of his service he stated that he returned to Charlotte Count, VA., were he enlisted 1778, and served 3 months in Capt. Morton's VA. company; after this service he went to South Carolina and in 1778 enlisted there and served three months in Capt. Wm Grant's company, Col. Thomas Brandon's South Carolina regiment, then volunteered and served 2 tours of 3 mounts each under save captain and under Major Benjamin Jolly in South Carolina troops and was at Bacon's Bridge and battle of Eutaw Springs and also marched against the Indians to Hiawasse.

Robert state that during the Revolutionary War, he had no permanent home, but after the conclusion of his last service, he went to Union District, South Carolina, to live and about 1785 , moved to Rutherford, County, North Carolina. He died August 14, 1836 or August 17, 1836, all of these dates are given. The soldier married 1779 to Elizabeth Bailey. They were married in Union District South Carolina. In 1846, she was living in Polk County, Tennessee, age (obscure). She died in Polk County, Tennessee February 10, 1850.

He died on 14 Aug 1836 in Rutherford County, NC. He was married to Elizabeth BAILEY in 1779 in Union District, South Carolina. (18) The soldier married in 1780, Elizabeth Bailey, date and place of her birth and name of her parents not shown.

45. Elizabeth BAILEY was born in 1760. She died on 10 Feb 1850 in Polk County, TN. Children were:

child viii. Rebecca HANEY was born on 9 May 1795 in Rutherford County, NC.
child ix. Syntha or Cintha HANEY(20) was born on 17 May 1799 in Rutherford County, NC. She died in 1860 in TN.
