Yes, Iam glad to hear from you but I am afraid I cant help you much. I know the names of my ansestors back to and includeing any great grandfathers on both sides of the famely, but not for the ???? the Harris Side.

I have in recent years leaned from reliable history that my estimate of that lapse of time since our ancestor crossed the ocean from England is practically correct. Its was during the last ten years of the 17th century that is sixteen hundred ninity something. I lack three names of knowing all. But I will give you what I know.

Your fathers names as you know was Orsemsu Madison Harris born May 25, 1844. His father was Orsemus Harris born b Chittenden Co. VT, June 25, 1818. Son of Jonathan Harris b. 1789 in VT, Son of Stephan Harris, date and place of birth ???

and there are three name more of great great grandfather, and great great great grandfather, he was the man from England who strewed the corn meal dumplings on the floor for his twelve boys to pick up in a contest in which involved the decission of his property.

On my mothers side my grand father Allen's name was Nathaniel Powers Allen, his father was Samuel Allen a cousin or first cousin once removed from Ethan Allen of revalutionary fame. My mothers aunt Sophie Allen, daughter of Samuel Allen has told me that her grandfather was a soldier of the Revolutionary war, but I have no data confirming the statements.

If you could in any way get access to the family reacord of one or both family you might get help in that way.

I am living with my eldest daughter in NewPort on the Pacific. It is a St?? glingly build town but the ocean beach is certainly charming.

Now niece Clara, do you think because I have not helped you that it was be cause I did not want to. For I have gone to the limit of my knowladge of the families, and if at any time any futher information come into my possession you shall have it as soon as possable.
