Charles Adams, father of Mrs. W S Gunnell, died at the home of his daughter in this city Monday morning very suddenly. He had been in usual health, and the summons came without warning. He had complained during the excessively warm weather of not felling well, but Monday morning he had risen and gone through the usual duties of the day., and was seemingly as strong as could be expected. When he was stricken within a fleeting moment.

Charles Adams was born in Pennsylvania, March 24, 1834, and died in Beaver City, Nebra, September 4, 1922, aged 85 years, 5 months, and 10 days. He was married to Sarah Jane Buell. To them were born seven children. Two died in infancy. Frank Adams died five years ago9 in Ord Nevr. Mr. Adams was a veteran of the civil war, having served during the rebellion, and was honorable discharge. He came to Nebraska in early day and settled upon a farm in Blaine (correction Howard) County. In early life he was converted and united the Brethren church., and was a faithful, earnest Christian., devoted to the duties he owed to his church and his God.

Nine years ago Mr. Adams came to Beaver City, making his home with his daughter, Mrs. W. S. Gunnell, and family. Here he had an ideal home fo one of declining years. At the return of each birthday anniversary the old solders and W R C and their families were invited to spend the day with him, and a dinner appropriate to the occasion was served. Mr. Adams was a man once known as always loved. He was open hearted, generous, and kind. His cheerfulness and natural wit made him a favorite in all the fraternal gatherings. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held at the Brethren church on Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. F. Watson, the members of the G. A. R. W. R. C. and the American Legion attending and taking part in the services. Afterward the body, accompanied by members of the family was take to Howard (correction Howard) County for burial in the family lot.
